You May Select Your Desired Security Mode At The Bottom Of This Page.
_________________________________________________________

Standard Security

Your security level is currently listed as : Maximum

Standard Security means that all security methods are in place except for one. Your data is being sent and received by your computer in the normal manner that 97% of all Internet data is transmitted every day. This mode is used generally when you are accessing pages that are not considered highly critical or confidential in nature (eg. Demo Room Pages, Policies Page, FAQ etc.). The default mode for private rooms is Standard .

Your data is not encrypted during transmission while in Standard mode. This should be of little concern to 8 out of 10 people. Note however that once the data reaches our servers it is then converted and encrypted at those locations for storage purposes. This is very safe and secure.

Note also that whenever we ask for personal information such as Credit Card numbers etc. , those sessions jump into Maximum Mode no matter what you selected when you entered the web site.

The reason we give you two possible levels is that many browsers tend to throw repeated and annoying messages at you when you are in the Maximum mode. To avoid those messages and interruptions, we created this level of security that works best for the masses.

Maximum Security

Your security level is currently listed as : Maximum

Maximum Security means that all of your data is being sent and received by your computer using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. This is the same technology used to transmit banking and credit card information. It is very secure and respected.

Your data is encrypted during transmission while in this mode. If you are logging in to Extend The Lifetime of your room, you'll need to be in this mode because such transactions contain data such as Credit Card Numbers etc. In addition, you should use this mode if you feel that you are being targeted and/or monitored by people such as 'hackers' who have nothing better to do than to sit around and try to see what information they can gather at the "real time" transmission packet level.

You'll probably need to adjust some settings in your browser software to minimize the onslaught of warnings that will generally come up. For instance, while in SSL mode, most browsers will consider things such as pictures as being potentially harmful. It will ask you to confirm including these "insecure items" in the page when presented. Well after five or six times saying yes to this question, you're going to get tired of it.

Here's a couple of great tips!  (You can actually perform these steps as you read along.)

Tip # 1

When you move between secure and non-secure web sites Internet Explorer will prompt with a Security alert "You are about to view pages over a secure connection." or "You are about to leave a secure connection". You can choose to tick the checkbox for "In future, do not show this warning". (This is the equivalent to making the following change: in Internet Explorer from the Tools menu select Internet Options. Choose the Advanced tab and under Security settings deselect the option "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode").

Tip # 2

If your page contains any references to pages that reside on another server, you will see the message :

"This page contains both secure and non-secure items. Do you want to display the non-secure items?".

You have to click yes each time this appears. To enable your browser to display non-secure items at all times, you must change your Internet Explorer settings as follows:

Open Internet Explorer: from the Tools menu, choose Internet Options. Click the Security tab and click the Custom Level option. Scroll down the list of options and about halfway down there is a heading Miscellaneous. Under the option "Display mixed content" change the radio button to "Enable" then click OK. Click Yes at the prompt "Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?"

Tip # 3

We think you should make MyPrivateRoom.com a "TRUSTED SITE" in your Internet Settings and adjust those settings to a lower security level. This will make your browser know that it doesn't have to be so fussy when this site is running. Changing all the possible settings is beyond the scope of these help notes but can usually be set just using some common sense.

Remember: You'll have to specifically select this mode below since the default is Standard.

Notice: It is not uncommon for some people to use the Standard method most of the time and then switch to Maximum mode temporarily when they feel that the subject matter warrants it (such as when adding extremely critical or sensitive data).

You can then switch back to Standard mode whenever you want. The choice is yours.

 {Okay when room contents are not critical.}     {Recommended for strongest protection.}
{Must be willing to tolerate extra warning messages.}
